DAY ONE
Depart Port Elizabeth at 09h00. Enjoy a drive along the Sunshine
Coast through the historic area where the nine frontier wars (1781 to 1877) between the British, Dutch Boers and the various
Xhosa tribes took place. Lunch in East London and then Sundowners
on the spectacular cliffs of Morgans Bay. Overnight on the Wild
Coast at Morgans Bay. |

DAY TWO
Morning stroll on the beach before breakfast and then cross the
Great Kei River on a pontoon into rural Transkei, birthplace of
Nelson Mandela. Follow ancient sleigh tracks in 4 x 4 vehicles
down the path of what was almost a national suicide for the Xhosa
nation and visit the “Pools of Prophecy”, traditional healers at
a rural centre and for the brave at heart some cliff jumping into
deep rock pools. A picnic lunch and then visit the ship wrecked
Jacaranda before we tackle the challenging Kabanqaba river
crossing to overnight on the banks of the Nxaxo river at the
Wavecrest Hotel. |

DAY THREE
Tides permitting, enjoy a boat cruise or canoe trip through the
most southerly mangrove forest in Africa with it’s wonderful
plant and bird life. After lunch we continue our adventure to
Mazzeppa Bay for an evening walk on the beach and to overnight at
the Mazzeppa Bay Hotel. |

DAY FOUR
Relax and stroll the beaches and rolling hills of The Wild Coast
in the morning and after lunch drive to the mouth of the Qora
River for a” rowing boat ferry” to Cobb Inn for a drink in the Pub
on the beach. Return to overnight at Mazzeppa Bay Hotel. |

DAY FIVE
Depart for Port Elizabeth . Lunch in the coastal mecca of Port
Alfred. Arrive Port Elizabeth at 17h00. |
