Depart from the Baviaanskloof Lodge at 09h00 and meet the
endangered inquisitive Red Finned Minnows of the Poortjies valley
with it’s Yellowwood tree canopy.
Rough stuff it up Thomas Baines’s famous Combrinks mountain pass
with it’s ancient Cycads, Fynbos & stunning views. |

Visit the Le Roux cableway & Bushman cave with it’s “interesting”
rock art as we descend into the “Valley of Baboons”
Lunch on the banks of the Kouga river is a true wilderness
experience.
While listening for the cry of the Fish Eagle & the guttural bark
of the Baboons a swim in the tranquil waters at Rooihoek is a
must. |

Mid afternoon depart for a short game drive along the river banks
where the Kudu, Bushbuck, Eland & the very elusive Cape Buffalo
congregate for their late afternoon drink. |
 |
Head for home back over the mountain & hopefully an encounter with
the Mountain Zebra & Red Hartebeest of Bergplaas will be the final
fairwell this spectacular true Wilderness area will offer.
